Chana Dal Masala


  • 1 cup chana dal
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon red chilly powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon asafetida
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon cumin_coriender powder
  • 2 tablespoon chopped coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Kari leaves


Soak the chana dal in warm water for 1/2 hours

Then drain water and add 1&1/2 glass water, salt, and turmeric and make 3 whistle

Cool it

In a pan add oil, heat it add mustard, cumin, kari leave, and garlic paste

Then add red chilli powder, cumin_coriender powder, and add this in boiled chana dal

Now boil it for 5-6 min. On low flame.

adjust consistency by adding water as per your choice.

In serving plate serve and garnish with chopped coriander.
